Tarpan and Shraddh Rituals: Honoring Our Ancestors
Tarpan and Shraddh are sacred Vedic rituals performed to pay homage to one's ancestors and departed souls. These rites are usually conducted during the Pitru Paksha period but can also be performed on death anniversaries or special occasions. By offering water, food, and prayers to ancestors, one seeks their blessings for peace, prosperity, and family well-being.
These rituals reflect gratitude, remembrance, and spiritual duty. It is believed that when performed with devotion, the souls of the ancestors attain peace and, in turn, bless their descendants.
